During the Application Process

  1. How can I apply to more than one program?
Use a separate application for each program. All applications at Clemson are customized to meet the needs of each specific program and are not interchangeable between programs. After you have submitted and paid for your first application, go back to the application page with the same userid and password and change your major. You will have to submit the second application and pay another application fee.
  2. What is my NR number?
Your NR number (NR stands for nonresident) is a number generated for an international student as a temporary ID used during the application process.
  3. If my department requires a portfolio, where do I send it?
If your department requires a portfolio, please send it directly to the department of which you applied to. Unless you have been instructed otherwise, send it to the program address on the contact page.
  4. To submit test scores, what institution code do I use for Clemson?
Clemson University’s institution code is 5111.  We do not require a department code.
  5. Can I fax test scores?
Clemson University will accept faxed unofficial test scores from the applicant directly and can be used to review by the department.  Domestic students can fax to 864-656-5344; international students should fax to 864-656-4723. However, official scores from ETS are required before official admittance.
  6. I have lived in South Carolina all my life. Why do I have to fill out a South Carolina Residency form?

South Carolina law now requires all students claiming South Carolina residence to fill out a South Carolina Residency form for verification.
