Which community you settle in (see About the Upstate) depends on a number of factors, such as your preferred method of transportation, whether you prefer a rural or downtown environment, the needs of any other members of your family and so on.

There is currently no designated graduate student on-campus housing at Clemson. Graduate students may apply to live in general campus housing by contacting the housing office. In addition, University Housing has selected Tiger Properties as the preferred leasing agent for graduate, family and international student housing needs.

Many graduate students live as close to campus as possible to take advantage of biking to campus or using the award-winning Clemson Area Transit (CAT), a free bus that serves Clemson, Anderson, Central, Seneca and the surrounding areas, so they can easily travel back and forth between campus and home. However, if you want to be near a partner’s job, a particular school or in a particular town, travel throughout the Upstate is relatively quick and painless.

Or, just do an internet search on “Clemson apartment.” Your department may also have a bulletin board or other information about other students in your department who are looking for a roommate or an apartment.
