Choosing an Advisor
When you choose an advisor (and an advisor chooses you), you're making one of the most important decisions in your graduate career. Unfortunately, you often have to make this decision before you've been in the program very long and don't know the "insider's scoop" on various potential advisors. Your advisor is going to be your boss, your mentor, your colleague and the gatekeeper of your degree, so give it a lot of thought and don't make impulsive decisions.
